If you were hired to teach at a high school and were asked to develop a drug prevention pro- gram, what goals would you strive to achieve? Identify three goals and provide the rationale for these goals based upon the literature and what is established in evidence-based practice. Then, indicate whether prevention is adequate when it is initiated at the high school level or should it be implemented at an earlier age. If, in your review, prevention should be offered earlier in the lives of individuals, would the goals remain the same? Or would different goals be appropriate?
