You will develop three theological statements on (1) authority of Scripture, (2) marriage and family, (3) gender and sexuality. Each section should include
material concerning what the culture says about these issues. In contrast to what the culture is saying about these issues, you will use the Scriptures and
relevant academic sources to demonstrate what God has said regarding the issues. Each statement should be concluded with a paragraph of application as
you discuss how believers should live and lead in light of what God says regarding the issue.
Items to include are outlined as follows:
Length of assignment: Each theological statement must be 500-600 words
The title page and bibliography do not contribute to the word count for each theological statement.
Format of assignment: Current Turabian format.
Number of citations: Each theological statement must have 2-3 academic sources. Furthermore, you must interact with both the Old Testament and the New
Testament to support your claims. You must have 3-5 key biblical texts for each theological statement. Academic support must be footnoted in current
Turabian format while biblical support must be parenthetically referenced.
Acceptable sources: Scholarly journal articles, monographs, commentaries (limit 1 per theological statement), and the Bible. In order to support your claims
regarding these contemporary issues, journal articles and monographs must be current or published in the past 10 years.
