PROJECT 2: SCENARIO C2
R+R Design is a strategic planning and design firm with a long-standing history and national presence.
While they have multiple office locations across the country, their flagship location is Gainesville,
Florida. The company’s core values include the creative spirit, trust, integrity, respect and collaboration.
R+R Design prides itself on understanding complex issues faced when designing for their complex and
multidisciplinary clients. The firm is committed to an integrated, team approach to design. They work in
both the public and private sector on a wide range of projects all differing in size, scope and discipline.
The company’s main Practice Sectors include:
• Higher Education
• Healthcare
• Workplace
The company is led by its two managing partners and an exemplary team with vast expertise in the
three practice sectors above. R&R Design works with business clients to create environments that are
high-performing and efficient. They are committed to the principles of sustainable design, inclusive
design, and social justice. All work done by the firm is conceived with these principles in mind.
The company’s services include:
• Strategic Planning
• Programming
• Architecture
• Interior Design
• Product Design
• Graphic Design & Branding
• Project Management
R&R Design is well known for their unique design aesthetic and enjoys a strong reputation. It follows a
business-driven approach that encourages client participation, builds strong relationships and is highly
collaborative
NEW FACILITIES:
R&R Design is moving to a new space in the Innovation District near downtown Gainesville. The fourthfloor space has a large expanse of windows on all sides and, because of the location of core elements on
the sides, offers unique planning opportunities at the center.
The office is organized in teams, each specializing in one of the three practice areas. No one has a fixed
workplace in their facility, and every worker’s location at any given time is based on the current team
assignment. There are relatively few fixed offices in the current facility and they expect the same when
they move to the new facility.
APPROACH: R&R wants to reinforce the trust and transparency they have worked so hard to establish
by a “full disclosure approach” whereby clients coming in get an immediate and full display of their
office, their work, and their culture. They want that first impression to say “here, take a look, this is
who we are.”
