Part of your preparation this year will include learning how to understand and answer NCLEX style questions. The NCLEX is designed to determine if you are
able to practice at the entry nursing level. The questions, or test items, are written to evaluate your knowledge, skills, and ability to safely care for clients.
Assignment objectives
The student will be able to:
Describe the various components and types of NCLEX questions
Apply critical thinking and clinical judgement skills necessary to answer NCLEX style questions
Evaluate own mastery of chronic disease process
Assignment components
Develop 10 NCLEX style questions
The questions must cover material from Module A weeks 1-4 (must cover a variety of concepts)
You May not use pre-written questions, must be original work
You must use all 4 of these types of questions; multiple choice (one answer), multiple response, fill in the blank, drag and drop/ordered response. May also
include other types, but these 4 must be included. Refer to the NCSBN NCLEX-RN Test Plan pages 46-51 for descriiptions of each question type and
examples.
Rationales must be given for all answer choices (rationale for why the answer is correct AND rationales for why the other answers are incorrect)
Must be submitted as a Word document.
Assignment is due by Friday 5/20 by 11:59pm
There will be a 10 point penalty for each day the assignment is submitted after the due date, and submissions will not be accepted after 3 days late.
