In this assignment, you are asked to implement your knowledge graph in a graph database system. PostgreSQL with A Graph Extension (AGE) is
With https://www.postgresqltutorial.com/postgresql-python/insert/, it is possible to manually input graph nodes and edges using SQL/openCypher
commands using pgAdmin. But for the bulk of the data input for nodes and edges, given the amont of data involved, it is best to populate the graph database
programmatically. For example, we can write a Python program to read data from JSON lines or comma-delimited text files and then use Python psycopg2
(Links to an external site.) utilities for interacting with the graph database.
In previous assignments, you defined the schema for your knowledge graph: Knowledge Graph Schema See the Nielsen Knowledge Graph Example.
There is sample code in the GitHub repository for the class, msds-459-2022-spring under https://github.com/CIGraphs/.
Your job in this assignment is implement the knowledge graph for your selected company and to show how you did it. Part of your work on this assignment
should demonstrate how to employ SQL and openCypher queries to glean information from the knowledge graph. Show how the graph database can be used
to answer management questions about your selected company and its competitive position.
Organize the paper as a research report with each section answering basic questions as identified in bold type below:
Abstract. An executive summary of the research.
Introduction. Why are you conducting this research?
Literature review. Who else has conducted research like this?
Methods. How are you conducting the research?
Results. What did you learn from the research?
Conclusions. So, what does it all mean?
When drawing conclusions, make sure that you relate your study results back to the management problem you have identified. To what extent will the graph
database be useful in addressing the management problem (using a knowledge graph for competitive intelligence)?
