Chrome for this.
Since you find information by NAICS code, you’ll need to look up the specific NAICS codes for each segment
of interest, which you learned in the last assignment. Note that the NAICS codes may have changed between
years. For example, the 2007 code 323110 Commercial Lithographic Printing is 323111 in 2017 so double
check the text for the code is the same.

Now that you know how to find data about the NAICS segments, let’s look up three different segments and
see what happened over time.
Look up Segment 54:
1. Graphic Design Services (541430)
a. How many people were employed in Graphic Design Services in 2019? How about in 2017?
b. How many establishments employed the designers in 2019 and 2017? Figure out the average size of
establishment in people employed (total people employed / number of establishments).
c. What conclusions can you draw by comparing the change over 3 years from 2017 to 2019?
2. Advertising Agencies (541810)
a. How many people were employed for Advertising Agencies in 2019? How about in 2017?
b. How many Advertising Agencies establishments were there in 2019 and 2017? Figure out the
average size of establishments in terms of people employed.
c. What conclusions can you draw by comparing the change over 3 years from 2017 to 2019 in terms of
number of people employed?
Look up segment 31-33 Manufacturing:
3. Commercial Lithographic Printing (323111)
a. How many people were employed in 2020? How about in 2017?
b. What where the annual sales (value of shipments) in 2020? How about in 2017?
c. What conclusion can you draw from this data?

4. For Internet Publishing (519130)
a. How many people were employed in 2019? How about in 2017?
b. How many establishments were there in 2017? How about in 2019?
