Sections 1 and 2 are on our reading list! I know, I know-they’re really long! And really German! So, you
might want to just focus on the subject of happiness or the idea of will in the first section and how important
that is to moral judgments according to Kant…the second section is on the categorical imperative…here’s a

Now-describe the dilemmas of one or more of the main characters in The Good Place in terms of both
Hobbes and Kant. You will of course be referring to their character conflicts (external-as portrayed in the
show, and internal-as revealed to the audience by their own flashbacks and dialogue with other
characters).
