Conduct an internet search with the keywords of “evidence-based practices in criminal justice.” Click on some of the results that end in .gov. Read about the evidence-based practices and discuss the importance and role of research in criminal justice. Also, discuss the importance of using evidence-based polices. You may cite specific examples in your post from the .gov websites you access.
Your initial posting should be 250-500 words and must be submitted by Thursday, midnight, of this week. It should cite at least one credible resource (the textbook, module lecture, required and recommended readings are excellent resources).
By Sunday of this week, respond to two or more of your classmates, or your instructor, in one of the postings in any of the following ways:
Explain why and how you see things differently.
Share an insight from having read another posting.
Offer and support an opinion.
Build on another posting.
Ask a probing or clarifying question
Criminal Justice Capstone Experience
Module 2: Writing the Introduction
By the end of this week, you will submit the initial draft of the first two sections of your Portfolio Project: Section I (Introduction) and Section II (Objectives). The introduction lets readers know where you will take them and why the study will focus on this area. At the center of the introduction is the research problem. Readers are often interested in a problem they think needs a solution (Booth, Colomb, Williams, Bizup, & FitzGerald, 2016).
Learning Outcomes
Describe the three elements shared in introductions.
Distinguish a practical problem from a conceptual research problem.
Differentiate a research problem statement from a purpose statement.
Evaluate the importance of qualitative and quantitative research and evidence-based approaches in criminal justice.
