Assessment Information This assignment is an individual assignment. Project Scenario Coventry Railway Station is over 60-year old. Giving its age and the increasing number of passengers visiting the station, the City of Coventry decided to build a new building within the next two years. You have been appointed as the project manager to oversee the development. You are responsible for demolition of the old station, construction of a new building and renovation of an existing multistorey car park. A Business Case has been prepared and a budget of £100 million has been approved by the Project Board. Coursework Task Your task is to prepare a project initiation document (2500 words), drawing on appropriate project management theory and frameworks, to present to the Coventry City Council for approval. The plan should consider the following aspects of the project: • The project’s scope (including objectives, constraints and exclusions) • An outline project plan (Gantt chart) showing the main tasks and significant milestones in the project, supported by a justification of your proposed approach (the Gantt chart needs to show a minimum of 10 tasks). • An initial assessment of stakeholders and recommendations on how these stakeholders should be managed to maximise the chance of achieving the project’s objectives. • An initial assessment of risks and opportunities presented by the project and the response strategies proposed.
