Case Study:
A measurement of 7 Students uses of cuss words within an hour time frame in a school setting. This study was conducted over a four-week period. The 1st week was the baseline week, 2nd week students were aware (cuss words were discussed during the directional period of the study) and had the opportunity to be in a weekly drawing for chance to win a $25 Amazon GC. 3rd Week students had the opportunity to be in a weekly drawing and earn a $20 Amazon GC. 4th Week students had the opportunity to be in a weekly drawing and earn a $10 Amazon GC.
Class Background:
7 students- 5 boys, 2 girls
High school level grades 11-12
Students are all identified on an IEP
Rules:
If a student didn’t swear in the hour timeframe, they were entered twice into the weekly drawling daily. If they swore once they were entered once into the weekly drawling daily. If they swore twice no tickets issued for that student that day. Each day students entered with a clean slate. Students had an opportunity to earn 10 tickets a week and the drawling was held on Fridays.
