
Graduate students enrolled in TELC 5001 are required to write two research
papers. The one mentioned in Module 4 counts 150 points for Graduate
students. The other research paper also counts 150 points and it is listed in
Module 3 for graduate students only. The title is Best Practices in
Teaching Adolescents with Special Needs in the Regular Classroom
Use a minimum of 3 journal articles (within the last 5 years) and 2 reference
books to conduct your research. Explain how the regular classroom teacher
should include these students with special needs in teaching a high school
subject, but still honor the needs of the IEPs.
The body of the paper will consist of 4-6 pages. The reference pages will be
additional. All references must be cited within and at the end of your paper
using APA style. Please note that Wikipedia is not an acceptable reference.
You can refer to your textbook, but it does not count in the number of five
required references. Journal articles must have been published within the last

These sources will be cited throughout the paper using APA
format. Include a Works Cited page at the end. You have been given a
number of guides in the Getting Started Module to assist you with using APA
style. ( Points will be deducted for not using APA correctly.) It is not necessary
to create a title page or an abstract. Instead, include your name, university,
and class in which you are enrolled which is TELC 5001. Your font should be
10 pts. in Arial and double spaced.
Save paper as: first initial last name. Save paper in doc format. Please do
not use docx. If you are using Microsoft Word, it will automatically be saved in
that format. Ten points will be deducted for each day that it is submitted after
the due date.
APA Style
All of your papers in this class will be created using APA style. This is the
standard style for the education programs so you may want to consider
purchasing an APA Style Manual.
