Benchmark Two
Submit your lesson plan and then fill in the structure of a WebQuest
This assignment is the SECOND of a series of activities that will ultimately lead to a project in which
you create a WebQuest. At this point, you should be familiar with the idea of a WebQuest and will
begin forming an idea and plan for the WebQuest you will create.
In preparation for the assignment, you will need to review the following resources
FIRST, think about the TASK component of a WebQuest (what students will DO). Review each
of the websites below. Don’t skip them! Please note, you may NOT use a “Retelling task” for
your WebQuest. If you read the WebQuest Taskonomy, you’ll understand why.
Read about The WebQuest Taskonomy: A Taxonomy of Task
(http://webquest.org/sdsu/taskonomy.html)
Read: WebQuest Design Patterns (http://webquest.org/sdsu/designpatterns/all.htm)
SECOND, think about assessing student achievement how well did they demonstrate learning?
The Webquest that you will create will need to contain an information rubric like though you will
find in the following Websites:
Read: A rubric to assess the quality of a WebQuest: A Rubric for Evaluating WebQuests.11-
7(6)-1.doc

process section that will help students learn what you are trying to teach.
Classroom Resources
Briefly describe the types of resources (including online and real-world) you would like to
make available to your students like how many computers or poster board and markers, or
a smart board. What is needed in the classroom for students to complete the lesson.
Conclusion
Summarize what students should have learned
Evaluation
Briefly describe how the students will be evaluated during this WebQuest.
Please use a grading rubic – not a list or scale
Submit your lesson plan and the outline for the WebQuest using the Submission Tool using
the file upload or text box. Do not use the Drop Box option. So two things for this assignment: 1. The lesson idea and 2. Fill in the headers above with information relevant
to your lesson plan. You will only need a few sentences for each header.
