Write an essay (3-5 pages) in which you analyse (close read) the representation of precarious lives in Kae Tempest’s novel, The Bricks that Built the Houses.
Compare this to the play Iphigenia in splott by Gary Owen, use secondary sources (yes, more than one) and please try to indicate how the form of the literary
work enables it to represent precariousness and precarity.
Remember to give your paper a clear structure, including a telling title, an opening paragraph with a clear focus and thesis statement, an argument based on
quotes (not in italics) whose meanings you tease out in lucid academic prose using the right terminology and phraseology, and which you present in the form
of paragraphs ending with a conclusion that sums everything up without introducing new things. Remember a bibliography and if at all possible use MLA
style or something very similar.
