A research paper on the discrimination of tattoos in the workplace tying in communication, cultural and media theories on discrimination and if social media and media plays a role in stigmatizing or de-stigmatizing tattoos. Looking at the history and cultural differences of tattoos and how western views rejected the idea of tattoos due to racism and prejudice. Which in turn created this taboo that deems tattooed individuals as “bad people”. Also looking at how tattoos have become a trend and popular in the most recent decades amongst celebrities and social media influencers . Conduct an experiment that surveys the experience of tattooed individuals and if they still face discrimination in the hiring process/workplace, if they think mainstream media has helped de-stigmatize tattoos compared to early societal views, do they factor employment when getting tattooed, etc. You can say the survey was conducted online via collecting samples from social media or experiment could be conducted using already existing data but I don’t know which will be easier. Be sure to include sample size and limitations. The research should follow the traditional research outline with abstract, intro, literature review, methodology, results/analysing data, limitations, further research, conclusions, etc.
